Adoption Information

Are you looking to add a new furry member to your family? Below is some helpful information on how our process works!

The first step is making a reservation to meet our available cats/kittens! You can do this through this link below!

Second step is filling out an application to adopt while visiting the café. We will process these in the order we receive them. Once the application is approved we move to the next step, match making via email/in person during your visit  :)  Our goal is to put effort in during the match making process in order to give adopters the best chance possible at long term success. We want all animals, your current and your future pets and family, to be HAPPY long term! 

Young kittens can be adopted in pairs/groups OR matched with your playful cat at home. Our cats are chosen to come to the Cafe based on their love of other cats and they thrive on social feline companionship. Even the most amazing humans and other animals on the planet, as we are sure you are, cannot BE a cat and provide that social companionship they need. We emphasize long term mental, emotional and physical health for all cats. We do our very best to match kittens and cats with other cats, pets, and family members to give them the highest probability of life-long happiness. If you have no other cats, we will adopt in pairs OR guide you to a cat or kitten who prefers to be alone, if we currently have one. We want human families to have their expectations met or exceeded in their new family member, even if that means we guide you to a cat not currently at the cafe. We are always amazed at how many wonderful adopters we have had the fortune to match make with and look forward to many many more Whiskers alum.

We do like to be transparent up front about this part of our adoption approval process and provide information as to why we adopt this way. The majority of behavior issues in kittens and cats is a direct result of single kitten adoptions. We want adopters to be successful with their adopted cats and we want long term mental and emotional health of all cats. We do encourage you to research more about the benefits of adopting two kittens.   We do not recommend single kitten adoptions. Here is a wonderful article that helps explain why!

After a “match” is made we schedule the adoption and that’s when you’ll need to have a carrier with you and a safe room set up at home with all of the essentials such as litter, food, bed, toys etc. We have Instinct cat food for purchase in store!  

Please note: All cats/kittens are vaccinated and spayed/neutered through our wonderful partners and the veterinarians at KC Pet Project. Adoption Fees

For kittens under 6 months of age, the adoption fee is $125 and cats over the age of 6 months have a $75 adoption fee.
